Unraid plugins vs docker
Django - Python web framework (using Turnkey Linux VM that includes sql).mariaDB - sql server, used for bookstack, poste, airsonic, and some other stuff.only really use when something weird is happening and need system insights airsonic - music streaming server, Google Play Music alternative.binhex-qbittorrent - much preferred over delugevpn.I don't use this much anymore, I prefer wireguard, but I leave it up as a fail safe + I have a client configured on my in laws computer so I can do remote help I don't use it for anything serious, mostly garbage email. NginxProxyManager - this is popular around here, reverse proxy solution + SSL management.binhex-krusader - file management for unRAID.Nextcloud - dropbox alternative (using the docker container for personal user, VM for side business).Fair warning, this app receives a lot of criticism, though I haven't experienced anything bad Backs up important stuff to a NAS, super important stuff to a OneDrive account. A little buggy, but it's a nice lightweight way to run python jobs chronos - Run python scripts as cronjobs.I use it for sharing some audiobooks with coworkers
#Unraid plugins vs docker password#
Set a root directory and share it on the web, can even password protect it. droppy - A nice web-based file/folder sharing app.bookstack - Love this one for documenting everything from house projects (never forget a paint color or the name of a flower in the front yard again!) to car maintenance.binhex-minecraftbedrock - simple Minecraft Bedrock server for my kiddo.I like it better than Mattermost, but it's not worth migrating existing users to it.
#Unraid plugins vs docker software#
Combined with snapRAID for media and a software RAID 1 for files/backups this makes a good alternative IMO. OMV: WebGUI looked much cleaner and detailed OOTB, plugins can be completely configured from the webGUI, Debian based, no read-only filesystem so easier to work with, sleep works fine and it's free. ) although this may have been improved with their support for Docker. I also was not impressed with a lot of the plugins (they didn't work, lots of problems. UnRAID: real-time parity, moderate SMB performance without cache drive but good enough for some basic file sharing, Slackware based so good luck trying to something unordinary, reiserfs = trying to lock you in to their system, read-only filesystem so again: not easy to work with, sleep doesn't work OOTB for a lot of motherboards, it isn't free. Therfore, I would suggest you to try out OMV since it is free, setup snapRAID and some other plugins and see how you like it. IMO, it all depends on your requirements, which you haven't stated. Second, neither OMV nor unRAID use the "raid card on the motherboard" OOTB. I've been using unRAID 4.x and 5.x for a while but am now making the switch to OMV.īut let's clarify something first: unRAID is not RAID, it's parity.
